PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deterging method exhibiting excellent deterging effects on a fiber product having a blood stain adhered thereto. SOLUTION: A blood-stained cloth is subjected to a preliminary washing with an alkaline detergent (A) containing a water-soluble chelating agent more than a theoretical value, having a pH of at least 10 and an effective oxygen concentration of at most 30 ppm and being not higher than 45 deg.C and subsequently to normal washing with an alkaline detergent (B) containing a bleaching agent and having a pH of at least 10.
