PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an immersion nozzle for continuous casting which does not bring about the phenomenon of one sided flowing of molten cast even when an opening degree of a gate is made narrower. SOLUTION: When an opening degree of a slide gate 12 is narrowed, molten steel flows obliquely from above into a basin 14 in a hole 3 inside a nozzle, then a force of flow of molten steel going obliquely downward is interrupted by a division wall 5. Moreover, because the upper end 5a of the division wall 5 is positioned nearly halfway between upper ends 4c of the openings of discharge holes 4a, 4b which open in the hole 3 inside the nozzle and a meniscus line ML, a head pressure of the molten steel, that accumulates beyond the position of the upper end 5a of the division wall 5 and up to the meniscus line ML, makes the molten steel flow downward and enables the discharge of the molten steel flowing from each discharge hole 4a, 4b to become approximately equal, so that, the generation of one sided flowing phenomenon can be prevented securely.
