The uterine manipulator comprises an elongated structure with a distal end part, which via the vagina penetrates the uterus via the cervix. The distal end part is connected to an intermediate part (2) at an acute angle to it. The structure has a formation (5) which indicates the orientation of the proximal part in relation to the intermediate part. The distal part has formations counteracting withdrawal, which engage with the wall of the cervix at different points of the cervical channel and which permit a rotation of the distal part in relation to the cervix. The cervical wall creates reaction forces (R(1) and R(2)) against the manipulator when it pivots downwards under the force of gravity. The manipulator thus pivots around a point located approximately in the longitudinal center of the cervix. |
