PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a photochromic polymer film showing sufficient coloring and decoloring velocities, a sufficient transmission change, and transparency during decoloration. SOLUTION: This photochromic polymer film is characterized in that a photosensitive halogenated silver particle having an average particle diameter in the range from 5 nm to 30 nm and a variation coefficient of particle diameters of all particles of not more than 40% is dispersed in a polymer matrix which protects the halogenated silver particle and is not irreversibly bonded to a halogen generated during photopyrolysis of the halogenated silver particle.
