PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gusset plate for a bearing wall and a structure for fitting the same by which difference in level caused at the corner of the bearing wall can be reduced as much as possible. SOLUTION: A gusset plate 10 including a cut-off section 32 is fitted on a corner part 14 of a bearing wall 12. More precisely, the gusset plate 10 is fixed on the outer face of a pillar 18 by screws 30 at its horizontal side 34 and also on the inner face of a top frame 20 or a bottom frame 22 by the screws 30 at its vertical side 36. With this attachment structure, as the outer face of the pillar 18 where the gusset plate 10 is fixed is on the same level with the inner face of the frame 20 or 22 where the gusset plate is fixed, a step with the thickness of the gusset plate 10 is caused between the horizontal side 34 and vertical side 36. Therefore, when a brace 16 is attached on the gusset plate 10, the thickness of the brace 16 is absorbed in the step on the gusset plate 10. Thus, the gusset plate 10 can reduce the difference in level caused by the multi-layered materials on the corner of the bearing wall, so that the wall panel rarely suffers the problems of unevenness or warping.
