PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a reduction of a defective occurring rate of a faucet body and a low cost, to improve the appearance of the faucet body, and to make the space saving possible. SOLUTION: This faucet 1 is provided with the faucet body 2 composed of a vertical tube part 2A and a horizontal tube part 2B, and a valve cartridge 3 inserted and fixed to the vertical tube part 2A. A communication hole 23 is provided at a part facing to the inside of the horizontal tube part 2B of the vertical tube part 2A, a rear end part of the horizontal tube part 2B is made as a water inlet 21, and a lower end part of the vertical tube part 2A is as a water flow outlet 22. The valve cartridge 3 is provided with a casing 4, a fixed valve part 5, a movable valve plate 6, a fixed seal plate 7, a movable seal plate 8, a connecting member 9, and a spindle 10. By the water pressure introduced into the inside of the casing 4 from a water introducing hole 41, the movable valve plate 6 is pushed to an upper surface of the fixed valve plate 5 and the movable seal plate 8 is to a lower surface of the fixed seal plate 7. Water discharging and cutting-off are executed by making the movable plate 6 turn at a prescribed angle through the spindle 10, the movable seal plate 8 and the connecting member 9.
