PURPOSE:To prevent the sticking of a toner or the like to the surface of a semiconductive elastic layer and to improve the durability of an electrifying roller by providing a surface layer composed mainly of phosphagen based resin on the outer peripheral surface of the elestic layer composed mainly of an epichlorohydrine rubber. CONSTITUTION:The semiconductive elastic layer 2 provided on the electrifying roller 4 is constituted of the epichlorohydrine rubber formed into 2-5mm thickness. A non-adhesive material of 0.5-10mum thickness is formed as the surface layer 3 on the outer peripheral surface of the semiconductive elastic layer 2. This attributes to prevent the sticking of the toner or the like to the surface of the electrifying roller 4 and to keep excellent static charge characteristic over a long time and the surface layer 3 composed mainly of the phophagen based resin is used preferably for the purpose. And it is also preferable to form a thin film having a non-adhesive material composed mainly of a titanate based coupling agent on the surface of the electrifying roller 4. As a result, the sticking of the toner to the surface of the electrifying roller 4 is prevented and stable static charge characteristic is kept over a long time. |
