PURPOSE: To provide a semiconductor memory provided with a memory circuit capable of being highly integrated and having plural ports, and to provide an output data updating method therefor. CONSTITUTION: A data read-out circuit 41 outputs second output data DOB based on levels of a pair of second bit lines BLB, XBLB. A data update detecting circuit 42 is connected to the pair of second bit lines BLB. XBLB, detects whether data of a memory cell 31 of the same address is updated or not based on the levels of the pair of second bit lines BLB, XBLB or not, and outputs a detection signal SM. A data holding circuit 43 outputs holding data DO2 responding to the detection signal SM, a data updating circuit 44 updates output data of the data read-out circuit 41 responding to the detecting signal SM and the holding data DO2.
