METHOD OF MANUFACTURING PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL

PURPOSE: A method of manufacturing a plasma display panel is provided to perform an aging process by forming a separate electrode for electrically connecting to the end portion of electrodes constituting the display unit, and simplify the aging process by separating or removing the electrode from the electrodes of the display unit after aging discharge. CONSTITUTION: Many sustain electrodes are formed on a front plate(11). A first short electrode(23) is formed to connect the end portion of the sustain electrodes. A first dielectric layer is formed to fill the sustain electrodes into the bottom of the front plate. A protection layer is formed on the bottom of the first dielectric layer. Address electrodes are formed on a rear plate opposite to the front plate. The address electrodes lie at right angles to the sustain electrodes. A second short electrode(24) is formed to connect the end portion of the address electrodes. A second dielectric layer is formed fill the address electrodes into the top of the rear plate. Barrier ribs for dividing discharge space are formed on the second dielectric layer in parallel with the address electrodes. Red, blue, and green phosphor layers are coated at the inside of the barrier ribs. The front and rear plates are sealed. An inner space of the front and rear plates become vacuum state and then gas is injected thereinto. After aging discharging the front and rear plates, the first and second short electrodes are removed.
