PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for realizing a large-capacity semiconductor disk device at a lower cost. SOLUTION: This invented semiconductor disk device, as its feature, has, in a same housing, at least one nonvolatile semiconductor memory, an external interface device, a memory controller doubling as a file system controller and a data compression/decompression circuit, and has a means for compressing data during the data writing and a means for decompressing the data during the data reading. |
