PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow easy grasp of contents and retrieve desired contents in a short time with a simple operation. SOLUTION: A programming unit 4 of a program supplying apparatus 1 combines CD-1 to CD-n which are digest versions of a plurality of contents to be provided top viewers to prepare at least one program digest. An STB 2 displays on a television receiver 6 a program digest which automatically repeats a digest version of each channel. When a viewer selects 'next' button on the screen by a remote control or the like while viewing the program digest, a transition is made to the next guiding screen. When a desired channel is selected while the digest of the program is being viewed, the contents of the selected channel is broadcasted on the television receiver.
