PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the convenience for operation in an acoustic system for rear seat(RES) and to contribute to reduction of the cost. SOLUTION: An on-vehicle acoustic system is provided with plural acoustic units 31 to 39, first and second operation means 1 and 2 for front seat and rear seat which give operation indications to one of these acoustic units independently of each other, and information output means 4 to 7 which output audio/ video information related to the operation state of the acoustic unit to which operation indications from respective operation means have been given, and at the time of start up of the system, the first operation means confirms respective power-on states of the second operation means 2 and acoustic units 31 to 39 and confirms respective functions to detect all required system information. The second operation means 2 generates an acoustic unit selection menu on the basis of this system information to control the display of information related to each acoustic unit.
