PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lower mount for a board as well as a method thereof capable of easy setting of appropriate lower mount height. SOLUTION: The lower mount for boards is provided which receives, from below, a carrier 11 holding a board 15 on which an electronic part is mounted. Here, a stopper pin 6 provided at a lower mount 5 is allowed to hit the lower surface of the carrier 11 to align the carrier 11 at a first altitude H1. A board suction surface 7a is allowed to hit the lower surface of the board 15 through an opening part 11a of the carrier 11, and the board 15 held by the carrier 11 is vacuum-sucked through a suction groove 7b so that it is sucked/held on the substrate suction surface 7a. Thus, the board 15 is positioned at a second altitude H2 which is higher than the first altitude H1 by a prescribed level difference (h). So, the altitude of the lower mount is appropriately and easily set even for a flexible board.
