<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decompress compression image data in the unit of blocks. SOLUTION: Read addresses of color difference components U, V in a first block in a horizontal direction are stored in a start address memory M3. Huffman decoding, inverse quantization and inverse DCT are applied to a luminance component Y and the color difference components U, V for each block. Up-sampling is applied to decompressed image data of the color difference components U, V to extract a part corresponding to the decompressed image data of the luminance component Y. Color space conversion and color number reduction are applied to the luminance component Y and the color difference components U, V to obtain a decompressed image of a concerned block. When the decompression processing of the block by one line in the horizontal direction is finished, the coded data of the color difference components U, V are read again on the basis of the address information stored in the start address memory M3. Then the similar decompression processing to above is repeated.</p> |
