A disk is provided with data areas (AR1, AR2), lead-in areas (LIN1, LIN2) and lead-out areas (LOUT1, LOUT2). For example, when data is enciphered and recorded in the data area (AR2), copyright managing information and (R2) key information (K2) are recorded in the lead-out area (LOUT2). Only the Q-channel information of sub-code is recorded in the lead-out areas, which are embedded with dummy data. The lead-out positions can be determined from the information in the TOC, and it can be judged from the Q-channel information that the information is recorded in the lead-out areas. By using these lead-out areas, the copyright managing information and the key information are recorded. The lead-out areas are neither rewritten nor accessed by an ordinary CD player, so that the copyright managing information and the key information can be safely stored.
|
