PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for a fuel cell with a catalyst metal having an improved utilization factor and the catalyst metal itself having greatly improved catalytic activity. SOLUTION: The electrode for the fuel cell comprises a cation exchange resin, carbon particles and the catalyst metal, the catalyst metal being supported mainly on a contact surface between a proton conduction passage for the cation exchange resin and the surface of the carbon particles, the carbon particles having a specific surface area of 500-1500 m2/g. |
