PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording/reproducing device which can restore the interactive service contents even at reproducing. SOLUTION: In recording mode, a transport stream from a receiving means 34 is given to a converting means 36, in which it is converted into a packet- multiplexed stream suitable for recording and then is outputted as a converted stream. The converting means 36 chooses packets on the desired service from the transport stream and, from these packets, chooses only the packet to be needed for the reproduction in order to generate a converted stream. A recording means 38 records the converted stream in a recording medium 44 as in the packet form. In reproducing mode, the converted stream is read from the recording medium 44 by a reading means 42 and then sent to a restoring means 40 where it is restored to the service content signal.
