An interlock cabinet system (10) that in its basic configuration includes two panel assemblies (20 and 20') kept at a spaced apart and parallel relationship with respect to each other by four spacer members (40; 40'; 140 and 140'). Each of the panel assemblies (20 and 20') include a central portion (22 and 22') flanked by two lateral channel portions (26; 126; 26' and 126'). One of the lateral channel portions (126) includes a longitudinal bent termination (125) that, in cooperation with the bent termination (126') of the opposite panel assembly (20'), slidably receives a decorative cover (60). Each of the lateral channel portions (26; 126; 26' and 126') have an inverted U-shaped opening (29; 29'; 129 and 129') that defines a tongue member (28; 28'; 128 and 128') that is receivable through slots (48; 48'; 148 and 148') in tab terminations (46; 46'; 146 and 146') of the spacer members (40; 40'; 140 and 140'). The spacer members (40; 40'; 140 and 140') provide horizontal support to shelves (S). |
