PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a portable terminal such as a portable telephone or a portable information terminal to make a response even when communications between a use client and a service provider is discontinuous at the time of acquiring information with a hyper text. SOLUTION: A mail server is connected through a network to a portable terminal, and the mail server is provided with an information data base for assigning a plurality of mail addresses, and for storing information data corresponding to the mail addresses. Also, the portable terminal transmits an electronic mail to the mail server, and the mail server extracts the information data corresponding to the mail address from the information data base, and transmits the information data as an electronic mail to the portable terminal.
