The other party which receives the chat request responds to this as necessary. When the request permission is transmitted from the other party, the request permission is transmitted from the server 12 to the request side, and a participant list is transmitted to all the participants, and a chat mode is established. When a message from the participants is received by the server 12, the message is transmitted to all the participants by the server 12, and the message contents are displayed on a display part 46 of the portable telephone of each participant.
