A postcard or a greeting card with CD-ROM or DVD represents a new multipurpose product that has characteristics of a packaging means as well as a means to transport flat media carrying magnetic or digital recording, it has characteristics of a regular piece of mail and of a traditional postcard. The postcard shown on the fig. 4 consist of a two-part housing with an elastic button (6), CD-ROM (4) and one or more cover elements. The housing consist of the base board (1) onto which the upper board (2) is glued and it has a hole to accommodate a CD-ROM (4) which is closed inside of the bed (5) by a glued transparent folio (9a), by a glued nontransparent board (11) or a pulled-over transparent folio (9b). One plane of the completed postcard is painted and the other is graphically designed as a standard postcard with fields to enter receiver s addres, place a stamp and write a message. In terms of information science the postcard is a multimedia means with visual and informational content used for transfer of personal and bussiness informations.
