PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily restore electronic equipment having got out of order without moving a person (serviceman or user) nor a body (electronic equipment). SOLUTION: If an MD player 12 gets out of order, a notebook type personal computer 11 is connected to the MD player 12 via a 1394 fast serial bus 10. The notebook type personal computer 11 requests the MD player 12 to diagnose itself and sends the obtained result to a service server 18 via a network 17. The service server 18 analyzes the result of the self-diagnosis and sends the result to the notebook type personal computer 11 via the network 17. The user inputs a specific command to the MD player 12 according to the analysis result displayed on the notebook type personal computer 11.
