PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method to charge or discharge a storage battery, which can largely lengthen the life of the whole battery consisting of many cells. SOLUTION: In a battery system consisting of many cells connected in series or parallel, a certain number of cells are handled as a block. In this control method, charging and discharging are controlled using the charging and discharging conditions for the above block as the reference.
