PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare retrieval knowledge optimal for retrieving the document of a certain field without requiring special technology or knowledge. SOLUTION: For each sample document in a certain field objectively evaluated by an examinee, words appearing in that sample document are extracted (step s1). Then, in respect to each of words, a score expressing the significance degree of that word is calculated from an evaluation value applied to each of sample documents by the examinee and the number of times of appearance of the word (step s2). Continuously, the words of high scores are listed up (step s3) and on the basis of that list, plural sets of keyword candidate groups based on the combination of several words are set (step s4). Retrieval is really tried to a sample document group while using these keyword candidate groups one by one (step s5). A keyword candidate group regarded optimal is selected out of the result of retrieval to retrieving processing using all the keyword candidate groups and that selected group is determined as retrieval knowledge (step s7).
