PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical information recording medium and an optical information recording method using this for providing highly dense recording/ reproducing using proximity field light in an optical information recording medium of a practical level. SOLUTION: This optical information recording medium is composed by forming a proximity field light generating layer 2 on a translucent substrate 1 by a material having an effective refractive index ηN+1 turning a value of energy transmissivity to zero and sequentially forming a dielectric layer 3 for converting the proximity field light into propagating light, a recording layer 4 and a protective layer 5. Pits are formed on the recording layer 4 by irradiating light on a refraction adjusting layer 2 from a translucent substrate 1 side, generating evanescent light, and converting the evanescent light into the propagating light via the dielectric layer 3. |
