PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exponential transformation method providing exponential transformation property with high linearity (in a logarithm). SOLUTION: A plurality of bits of a first binary word formed by a plurality of a bit showing a first value are divided into a preceding bit group BGV and a subordinate bit group BGL. Then, the first binary word is transformed into a second binary word approximately showing a value of an exponential function in which the first value is a variable by using the preceding bit group BGV as exponential information (S) of the exponential function and also by using the subordinate bit group BGL as mantissa information [ 1+(M/2L)}] of the exponential function.
