PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arc tube mounting method which enables mounting the arc tube in a base at a low cost and in a short time, and a lamp. SOLUTION: Through holes 3d and 3e for use of shafts are provided to the base 3, and the shafts 20 and 21 are inserted into the holes 3d and 3e, thereby rolling electrodes 2a and 2b of the arc tube 2.
