PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for inspecting the joining state of a long-length object for satisfactorily joining a leader tape and a magnetic tape, a method and an apparatus for manufacturing a wound body of the long-length material, and a method and an apparatus for performing tape cassetting. SOLUTION: The contact surface 1a of a fluid pressure detecting part 1 is brought into contact with the joint part of a leader tape 2 supported by a fixed block 11 and a magnetic tape 3 supported by a guide block 13, a negative pressure is applied to the joint part, and the change of the negative pressure is measured to judge the quality of the joining state of the joint part by the amount of the change of the negative pressure. Since the quality of the joining state can be measured easily in this way, cassetting can be performed with easy and short-time measurements by performing this operation on each of the joint parts at the trailer side and the leader side of the cassette.
