MAGNETIC PARTS FOR SUPPRESSING COMMON MODE LIGHTNING SURGE CURRENT OF SIGNAL LINK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide magnetic parts for suppressing lightning surge current of signal link which have a small size and little fluctuations in high performance and are highly reliable and practical. SOLUTION: The magnetic parts are constituted by winding a signal line around a magnetic core, so as to suppress common mode lightning surge currents flowing in a signal link. The magnetic core is constituted of a metallic soft magnetic thin alloy belt having an effective saturation magnetic flux density Bs of >=1 T in the DC magnetic characteristics measured by adjusting the maximum amplitude of a DC magnetic field to±800 A/m, an aspect ratio Br/Bs, expressed by the ratio of the saturation magnetic flux density Bs to the effective residual magnetic flux density Br of <=0.2, and the pulse width of 1μs. The thin alloy belt also has effective pulse ratio permeabilityμrp of >=500, when the operating magnetic flux densityΔB is 0.5 T.
