PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem where the discharge characteristics degrades and becomes unstable in operation due to an impurity gas generated at an initial lighting state of a plasma display panel. SOLUTION: An aging process is provided where the discharge space of the plasma display panel is shared with the internal space of a unit which removes the impurity gas, for discharging for a prescribed period. After that, a gas ventilation hole of the plasma display panel is sealed up.
