An adhesive which comprises a combination of: a main ingredient comprising a modified block copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate and an aqueous aqua containing a-methylstyrene and isobutyl acrylate as components; and a reactive reagent which is a base adduct of a polyoxyethylene alkylaryl ether. The proportion of the modified block copolymer to the aqueous aqua may be 8:2 by weight. The modified block copolymer may have an ethylene/vinyl acetate ratio of 7:3 by weight and a molecular weight of 20,000 to 25,000. The aqueous aqua is an aqueous emulsion in which the proportion of the a-methylstyrene to the isobutyl acrylate may be 1:9 by weight and which may have a resin content of 20 to 50 wt.%.
