PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extract an answer to a question from a general document such as a newspaper article as a user's question sentence and to present a document making it possible to confirm that the answer is a right answer to the question. SOLUTION: This system has question sentence analyzing means (10, 20) which extract keywords from a question sentence and decide the kind of an answer, related word extracting means (30, 40, 50) which retrieve documents including the keywords, calculate the scores of the retrieved documents by counting the appearance frequencies of the keywords, and output a keyword having a large score as a related word, an answer kind selecting means (60) which outputs a related word matching the answer kind as an answer, a related word retrieving means (70) which retrieves a document wherein the related word extracted by the keyword and related word extracting means appears, and a confirmation document retrieving means (80) which extracts a document including the answer from the document retrieved by the related word retrieving means and outputs a set of the document and answer. |
