PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor which is provided with superior operation characteristics to improve usability, and to provide its control method and a storage medium. SOLUTION: A picked-up still image and an animation are recorded in a recording medium in an image processor. In the processor, a storage time deciding means sets an electric charge storing time, corresponding to an exposure time stage with proper exposure to have a permission range, when the electric charge storing time is decided. The electric charge storage time corresponding to an exposure time which is longer for the portion of a prescribed number of stages is decided with respect to the exposure time stage, which is selected by an exposure time selecting means. Unexposed image data which is imaged in a first image pickup mode by the electric charge storing time is stored in a storage means and, then the image data of a subject whose image is picked-up by a second image pickup mode by the electric charge storing time are stored in the storage means.
