<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve maintenability and reliability of a generator motor by eliminating a brush and a slip ring on the occasion of applying an AC excitation current of variable frequency to a rotor coil of the generator motor, which operates at variable speeds. SOLUTION: A secondary exciter, which supplies an AC excitation current of variable frequency to operate the generator motor 21 in various speeds to the rotor coil 16 of the generator motor 21, of which primary side is connected to the power system, comprises a brushless power transfer means for transferring an AC power for excitation to a rotor 21b of the generator motor 21 through electromagnetic induction from the external side of rotor, a frequency converter 15, which is mounted to the rotor 21b for frequency conversion of AC with this means and for supplying an AC excitation current of the predetermined frequency to the rotor coil 16 and a control signal receiving means 17, which is mounted to the rotor 21b for receiving signals to control the frequency converter 15 from the external side of the rotor. The brushless power transfer means is composed of a three-phase AC power source 10, a rectifier 11, a field apparatus 12 and a rectifier coil 13.</p> |
