PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seek locus optimizing method and a device in a sign seek servo hard disk drive. SOLUTION: This device includes a disk having surface, a spindle motor rotating the disk, a transducer recording information on the disk and reading the information from the disk, an actuator arm moving the transducer across the surface of the disk, and a controller. The controller can determine the seek length from a first track to a second track, determine the seek time based on the seek length, scale the seek time in response to the speed error between the calculated speed for the seek length and the designed speed, and control the actuator arm moving the transducer across the surface of the disk from the first track to the second track by utilizing an acceleration locus.
