PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus in an audio/video signal transport processor for processing a signal having a time division multiplexing packet of program component. SOLUTION: An apparatus in audio/video signal transport processor for processing a signal having a time division multiplexing packet of program component, wherein each packet has a payload of component data and a header having SCID which is a component identifier, each payload of a prescribed component is extracted from each packet and stored in a buffer memory, and the apparatus has a direct memory access circuit which generates a mutually exclusive direct memory access address sequence in response to the detected identifier and writers the payload of the component data into mutually exclusive blocks of the buffer memory.
