PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to recognize that there is no backside corresponding to its surface side or no surface side corresponding to its backside after printing in a double-side image reception. SOLUTION: When a double-side original has been received (ST1, ST2), whether or not a surface side image exists is discriminated (ST3), and when no surface side image exists, image is printed on the surface side of paper (ST9), when the surface side image exists, the image is printed on the surface side of the paper (ST4), and then whether or not a backside image exists is discriminated (ST5), and when the backside image exists, the image is printed on the backside of the paper (ST6), when data denoting page succession exist (ST7) and the page numbers are not continuous (ST8), sort processing by insertion of paper sheets to recording paper sheets in different colors from the color of the recording paper in order to identify the presence of discontinuous page numbers or missing of the backside image is conducted.
