PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means to attain a high-speed processing for data input- output of a storage device having a data compression-decompression function. SOLUTION: In a storage device, a storage medium of the device is divided into at least two logical partitions, at least one of the partitions should be a compressed data space, the remaining partitions should be a non-compressed data space, and with providing a table to store access frequencies of clusters or files which are included in each partition, a means to move the clusters with high frequency of access with high priority to the non-compressed data space based on the table and to move the clusters with low frequency of access with high priority to the compressed data space is equipped.
