摘要 <p>The invention relates to the recording and displaying of information by means of optical radiation and can be used in optical memory devices for a single recording and multiple reading of information with the aid of visible-light and infrared lasers. The inventive method for recording optical information on an carrier of the optical memory device (Fig.4) consists in the following: a reflecting layer (2) of a recording medium of the carrier made of a metal or alloy having the thickness of 5 to 30 θm is exposed to the effect of a laser beam (6), thereby producing the photo-solution of said layer in a layer (3) of the recording medium which is chemically active in relation to the reflecting layer. Said chemically active layer is made of an alloy based on a composition of elements of a main sub-group of the sixth group with elements of the main sub-groups of the fourth-fifth groups of the Mendeleev periodical system. Said photo-solution produces pits (9) at points where pulse effects are performed. Said pits are embodied such that they are translucent or opaque on the laser wave length and have the optical contrast with respect to areas outside the pits (9), thereby improving an optical contrast in the recording medium between the recorded pits thereof and non-recorded areas, and increasing the capacity of the recording medium.</p>
