PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging unit having superior operability and enabling effective miniaturization. SOLUTION: The unit is provided with an imaging device 35 for converting a subject image to an electric signal, a recording means for recording image data, outputted from the device 35 in a recording medium 50. The unit is provided with an imaging circuit board 37, arranged nearly in parallel with the imaging surface of the device 35, connected with the device 35 and mounting electrical components constituting an imaging circuit, and at least one circuit board is arranged within nearly the same plane as the board 37. Circuit boards 39 and 40 are on both of the right and left side of the board 37 which is arranged in rear of a mirror box 5 holding a mirror for leading a photographic optical path to a finder at a prescribed inclination.
