PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an Al alloy board for a case that can control the swelling occurrence from the increase of internal pressure at high temperature, about 70-90 deg.C as a case for a square shape battery for electronic equipments such as a Li ion battery. SOLUTION: The aluminum alloy board for a case is Al-Mn alloy that contains less than Mn 0.8-2.0%, Fe 0.6%, Si 0.3% and is Mn-solid solution more than 0.75%, the ratio of Mn additive to Mn-solid solution is more than 0.6, and the proof tensile strength is 185-260 N/mm2. The aluminum alloy board for a case is also besides the said ingredient elements, includes more than one or two of Cu, Mg, Cr, V, Zr and Ni. The manufacturing method is continuous casting into a board on condition of more than cooling rate at cooling 100 deg.C/second, cold-rolled roll rate at 30-70%, controlled not to hold at high temperature of more than 380 deg.C with an accumulated total of more than 600 seconds.
