PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To report the existence of an abnormality in a control signal from a digital broadcasting reception adapter connected to a D terminal or in the cable of the control signal, when there is abnormality. SOLUTION: When a video input is changed-over to the side of the D terminal to connect a digital broadcasting reception adapter output to the D terminal, and when a 480i signal is identified from the information of control lines 1 and 2 through the use of a control part 10, a SW6 is changed-over to the side of a Y-component signal, an aspect ratio detecting part 7 detects the aspect ratio of the image of the Y-component signal and a determining part 8 compares it with the aspect ratio of information of a control line 3. When non-coincidence is found, a report part 9 reports that there is abnormality in the information of the control lines 1-3, which is outputted from video equipment connected to the D terminal or in the cable of the control line.
