PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder which can record data as well as images directly on an optical disk. SOLUTION: The image recorder is provided with an optical pickup 4 which irradiates a data recording surface of a writable optical disk 1 to write data, with laser beam, and an ink-jet head 12 which records images on the surface of the side opposite to the data recording surface of the optical disk 1. Therefore, while recording the image on the surface opposite to the data recording surface of the optical disk 1 by the ink-jet head 12, the data can be recorded on the data recording surface by the optical pickup 4. Thus, image recording and data recording can be realized by one recorder and the installation space of the recorder is significantly saved because two recorders are not required as conventional.
