The present invention concerns a domesctic heating appliance. This appliance has a source (1) of infrared radiation and a reflector (18) produced in the form of a wall made from a material which is a good conductor of heat, presenting towards the source (1) a reflective surface for the infrared radiation and opposite this a back (25) in contact with which an air circuit is established for the purpose of adding an effect of heating by hot air blowing (41) to an effect of heating by infrared radiation (20). Application to the production of make-up heating appliances, possibly able to be temporarily substituted for main heating.
