PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To support generation of a definition file in a message in which the definition file is not defined among messages output from an application program based on the definition file defining an output format of the messages and to attempt to make the work more efficient. SOLUTION: A setting-up supporting system is provided with a message- candidate acquiring equipment 3 extracting messages output from the application program 1 that outputs messages, a message-definition generating equipment 5, in which the messages extracted by the message-candidate acquiring equipment 3 are input and the input messages are analyzed, generates a message- definition, by using analyzed results, the definition file 6 accommodates the message-definition generated by the message-definition generating equipment 5, and a filter equipment 8 controlling the output format of the messages based on the message-definition accommodated in the definition file 6.
