PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile system that allows a transmitter to designate and operate various facsimile functions available at a receiver side. SOLUTION: Upon the receipt of an incoming call, the receiver side informs the transmitter side about its registration function. The transmitter side stores the registration function of the receiver side to a memory of its own. The transmitter side designates and transmit the registration function executed by the receiver side together with image data.
