<p>A drive circuitry that drives a number of vertical cavity surface emitting lasers (101) having a common cathode. The drive circuitry includes a modulator and a dummy laser (11). The modulator controls the vertical cavity surface emitting lasers (101). A modulation and bias current (33) is directed to one of the vertical cavity surface emitting lasers (101) to turn on the laser. The modulation and bias current (33) is directed to the dummy laser (11) and away from the vertical cavity surface emitting laser (101) to turn off the laser.</p> |
