<p>A magnet machine includes a magnet rotor (28). The rotor (28) includes a sleeve (12) and a magnet (430). The magnet (430) is positioned within the sleeve (12). A highly electrically conductive, nonmagnetic shield (420) surrounds the magnet (430). The shield (420) reduces rotor eddy current losses and lowers rotor operating temperature, thereby improving efficiency of the machine.</p> |
