The arthrodesis apparatus, comprising a stay rod and at least one anchoring assembly (1) with a flat hook (2) and base (3) for fastening the rod to a vertebra, has a hole (10) through the base, lying parallel or at a slight angle to the flat part (2b) of the hook. The hole is circular on one side of the base and oblong at the other, and is designed to receive a threaded rod (5) for fastening a second hook (4), fixed in position by a nut (6).
