<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exposed type modular jack, wherein fastening by tension can be performed without deteriorating transmission performance of a cable. SOLUTION: At the front face of a body 2, six modular blocks 30 are arranged and installed so as to make a plug insertion port face an opening window 7 installed at a lower side piece 6. At an upper wall and both right and left walls of the body 2, protruding pieces 9 are protrudingly installed respectively, and a knockout part 10 is formed in each of the protruding pieces 9, and a cable through hole 10a is formed by cutting off the knockout part 10. At sites neighboring the protruding pieces 9 in the front face of the body 2, cable retaining parts 11 are formed to retain cables 60a to 60f, which are connected with the modular blocks 30, with a force not so strong as to tighten them. Further, the cables 60a to 60f are bent within a face nearly in parallel with the front face of the body 2, and guide ribs 19 to 21 to guide cables 60a to 60f are protrudingly installed in the front face of the body 2.</p> |
